I thought we'd have a bit of fun here on Lust Bites today (not that we don't normally have fun). Here's the deal everyone taking part gets to choose seven (not two, or nine, or eleven, or twenty-seven) men with whom they'd like to be locked in the Lust Bites dungeon. That's one for each day of the week folks. (Note: I suppose we can cope with the odd woman or minotaur if you must... Janine.)
Right other rules.
1. The "men" must be fictional characters, whether from books, stage, film, comics, or video games. Please state their name and film/book/other that they appear in and your reason for picking them.
2. Nobody is allowed to choose the same character as somebody else. If you are desperate, you can appeal to do a swap. I suggest you go in there armed with a suitably HUGE bribe.
3. You're not allowed to nominate one of your own creations. Guess I can cross Vaughan (A Gentleman's Wager & Phantasmagoria) off my list now, then. Shame, I'm sure he'd have been great fun.
4. Links to piccies are always appreciated.
5. I don't know... you could always tell us what you're going to do with them.
Okay, down to business. Since it's my post I get to go first. Ohhhh, who shall I have? Will it be someone somebody else wants? How obscure shall I get?
Do you know what... this is hard... There are so-oooooooo many! I think I need a long list before I cut them down to the final six. Here goes, Lucifer (Dawn), Ross Poldark (Poldark novels), Doyle (Merry Gentry books), Phobos (WITCH), Jerry Cornelius (Various Michael Morcock books), Vishous (Black Dagger Brotherhood), Riddick (Pitch Black), Legolas (LOTR books), Fingolfin (The Silmarillion), Gene Hunt (Life on Mars), The Warlock (Warlock), Brian Slade (Velvet Goldmine), Mark Brydon (The State Within), Admiral Bill Adama (Battlestar Galactica), Lucius Malfoy (Harry Potter books), El Mariachi (Desperado), Lord Wraxhall (Lord Wraxhall's Fancy), Benten (Cyber City), Z-man (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls).
Phew! What a lot of men I like. Okay, drum roll, here are my chosen companions in the Lust Bites Dungeon.
1. Jareth the Goblin King (Labyrinth). It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this film, I still sit at the end yelling "take it" when he offers Sarah her dreams. Baby brother vs Goblin King. I know which one wins in my book, and it isn't the baby.
2. Sephiroth (FFVII/Advent Children/Crisis Core) because he's so damn cool he's untrue, I've a burning urge to run my fingers through his hair, and I'm fascinated by the whole one-winged angel thing.
3. Captain Jack Harkness (Dr Who/Torchwood). Hmm, I suspect I may get a few offers for him. I just love his sense of humour, and he's incredibly inventive.
4. Kai the undead assassin (Lexx). Loyal, deadly, and erm... dead. Perhaps, I'd better skip over this one. He delivers some super monologues though, and he can sing!
5. Ian Nottingham (Witchblade). Hmm, another assassin. Haven't seen the TV series, but I love this character in the original comic storyline. Noble, loyal, powerful, ace swordsman and curiously submissive on occasion.
6. Vicomte de Valmont (Les Liaisons Dangereus). I have to say it was a close run fight between him and Lord Wraxhall. They're quite alike really. Two preening peacocks. Style is important in my dungeon.
Hmm, so those are my choices. I have noticed that I seem to gravitate towards deadly raving lunatics, with vastly superior intellects, but who also happen to be extremely pretty. Not sure what that says about me. As for what I'm going to do with them once I have them in my dungeon... Sit back and watch them fight it out, of course. My mile wide self preservation streak won't actually let me go anywhere near them, although that might be a tad difficult if we're all locked in a dungeon. One to think on...

Dammit, you stole Captain Jack! And that’s just mean, not letting us use our own characters. Hmph.
But fine, I’ll still play your little game…
1. Spike from Buffy. Mmm, Spikey goodness. Are there manacles in the dungeon, please?
2. Sawyer from Lost. I know he can be an ass, but this isn’t a list of who I want to spend the rest of my life with. This is about being trapped in a dungeon, and I’m betting Sawyer can help get us the hell out of it…after we’ve had our ways with each other from here to next Tuesday.
3. Kilroy from Styx’s Kilroy Was Here concept album. You knew I had to get Styx in here, didn’t you? (And you won’t let me have Gowan, unless I really want to whine about the video where he’s a cartoon cat burglar…) Although you might argue that the Kilroy I really want is the one in the fan fiction I wrote, but tough. I’m choosing him! And anyway, come to think of it, Kilroy did figure out how to escape from the prison ship…I’m sensing a theme here.
4. Legolas. I had a crush on him from the photonovel of the bad cartoon version. He’d probably also be helpful in a dungeon breakout.
5. David Tennant’s Doctor Who. Complete with sonic screwdriver.
6. Prince Diarmuid dan Ailell, from The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay. Poor, beautiful, doomed, Diarmuid. Who scaled a castle wall for a woman.
7. Michael Praed’s Robin Hood. Robbing the rich and giving to the poor never looked so good.
I have a few repeats, but they are far too good to cross off the list:
1-Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates) first, it's Johnny Depp. Can't argue with that. He's dirty, bad, funny, clever. And he's Johnny Depp. Did I already mention that?
2-Jareth the Goblin King (Labyrinth) First, he's David Bowie. Um..guess you can see a trend here-lol! But he's also got a hot English accent, wears tight pants, is commanding, powerful, and he's baddddd! Just imagine what he'd be like in bed!
3-Sawyer (Lost) Again, he's a bad boy-but he's also got a tender side and he's totally tortured. Plus he's all sweaty most of the time. :)
4-Sayid (Lost) I know-another trend, but he's beautiful! He's got that dark past that makes him mysterious, and you can see in his eyes that he's haunted. He also has a sensual side-remember when he was in love? *sigh*
5-Paul Martel (Olivier Martinez in Unfaithful). He's pure sex! Beautiful, smart, has a thing for books and older women. 'Nuff said.
6-Mark St. Crow (Lillian Feisty's upcoming erotic novel, Play Me). The perfect dominant man. He's got it all: he's a musician, so he's creative (and I do love musicians, much to the detriment of my dating life during my 20's), he's tattooed, has a shaved head (why is that so sexy?), he's totally commanding but tender at that perfect moment that makes you want to cry, has great instincts, and he's smart.
7-(I only get 7??) Ironman, my current crush. I've always loved Robert Downey Jr. and this character is so fallible but ultimately heroic. Plus he's brilliant. And he makes me hot.
Oh, Downey Jr's Tony Stark could totally help you bust out of the dungeon! LOL!
1. Detective Robert Goren - Law and Order Criminal Intent - troubled, quirky and brilliant
2. Professor Charles Eppes - Numb3rs - the ultimate sexy geek
3. Special Agent Don Eppes - Numb3rs - hard case with a heart
4. Doctor Gil Grissom - CSI - another clever dish, better with beard
5. CSI Greg Sanders - CSI - oh, those puppy dog eyes
6. CSI Danny Messer - CSI:NY - edgy but cute
7. NCIS Agent Anthony DiNozzo - NCIS - funny, but sharp when it counts
Hmmm... all the crimefighters seem to be in the gaol with me.
1. Professor Severus Snape: hero, traitor and villian
2. Gaius Baltar (BSG): coward, traitor (ooh, a pattern emerges)
3. The Ninth Doctor: Yup, that's the doctor for me. The one who's so brittle with survivor guilt he might shatter
4. Angel (BtVS and Angel the Series): If we're in a dungeon with him we better not make him too happy. Angelus is still hot but I like my skin on.
5. Heathcliff
6. Jack McCaffery from Mo Hayder's books: ruined, broken, obsessive... Um, I might quite like the tortured manpain thing
7. Sportacus: After all teh angst I'm gonna need one handed press ups on Sunday
FYI
Sportacus
I'm noticing some serious themes here, ladies. Sportacus and Gaius - what a combination!
Right. I look away for two hours and all the best blokes are taken. Time to start bargaining...
1. Madelynne - I'm allowed to choose Vaughan because he's not my own character. I'll swop him & a pair of manacles for Captain Jack Harkness.
2. Dayle - I've got Eowyn in a cage here; will trade her for Legolas.
3. I also need Doctor Who, please, but in return will lend you Cpt Jack Harkness for half of one of the days. (I have a feeling 12 hours with him will leave me insensate anyway...)
4. Eden - I'm collecting the Captain Jacks; could I have Cpt Sparrow, please? I'll give you Edward Scissorhands and Ichabod Crane of Sleepy Hollow in return: two for the price of one!
Then to this rather fine collection of men, I think I'll add...
5. Lucius Malfoy of Harry Potter, whose supercilious sneer promises some very superior treatment;
6. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings because when he throws the doors open with such violence and staggers in, fresh from battle, I wouldn't even think about the mud and blood on the floor (and besides, you can't have Legolas without Aragorn or vice versa); and...
7. Hmm. No idea. I'm thinking maybe one of the Romantic poets (a hetero one for preference), perhaps one of Mr Pitt's incarnations, or some kind of monstrously golden Greek demi-god.
Ha! I have number 7. Achilles. It's a crap film, but I have a weak spot...
rolls around laughing hysterically - WAAAH HA HA HA!
Well, Grissom, Sayid, Heathcliff, and Det. Goren are taken, so I have to find some others. : )
Rhett Butler- yeah, sweep me off my feet baby.
Tommy Gavin – Rescue Me- Dennis Leary- very edgy and neurotic
Miles Monroe- Sleeper- Woody Allen- funny and neurotic
Fox Moulder- X-Files – David Duchovny- totally out there
Sam Spade- talk to me baby… LOL
Zatoichi- Blind swordsman series- bumbling, unassuming and masterfully skilled
Indiana Jones- fun and adventurous
Gack, no point trying to talk Portia into giving me the Dancing Detective...but the cutie from CSI NY? He's my secret sweetie. Now I have to really think!
1) Sherlock Holmes (I don't go for drug addicts as a rule but an exception will be made in this case)
2)House - You Brits kept Hugh Laurie a secret when he was a geeky youth but he belongs to the world now!
3) The Hulk - Really I just want Ed Norton but can't think of a movie he's in where he's half sane so I'll take the big green guy
4)Othello - big, dark, jealous - yum!
5) Sealy Booth - From 'Bones'. He grows on a gal. I like his style.
6) Ziggy Stardust - I'll get my David Bowie one way or another.
7) Sgt. Fury - The Howling Commando and my first crush. Let me heal you, big guy!
Gee, at first it seemed difficult but now I'm trying to find a spot for Superman...heart of gold inside the Man of Steel. Oh well, I still want Ed Norton so I'll stick with the Hulk and let someone else nab
the ultimate do-gooder.
Great post Madelynne! Such lovely pics. I think you understand why I'm not linking to pictures with this comment...
1. Sam and Dean Winchester, because they make spooky sexy. They are both tough demon killers so I'm sure they'd come in handy for something, even if it is only keeping me entertained in a dark scary dungeon.
2.Duncan MacLeod(the Highlander) I'm a sucker for dark brooding guys and his swordfighting skils are legendry.
3. Richard Sharpe - He's rough and tough and always useful in a fight.
4. Mick St John (moonlight) He's a good vampire and he's so cute.
5.Hercules, the TV version, because he's big and very hunky and could at least break down the door of the dungeon, but if I'm surrounded by all these lovely guys would I want to leave right away?
6. Sawyer has already been taken unfortunately, so it will have to be Dr Jack just for good measure.
7. Last but not least Hiro from Heroes. In a blink of an eye he can transport all of us out of the dungeon and into a lush Caribbean resort for some rest and relaxation.
I note mine are almost all fictional as I don't watch a lot of T.V. these days :)
1. Wrath-the Black Dagger Brotherhood-J. R. Ward. (I love Zsadist more but he scares me a bit too much)
2. Mr Darcy-duh
3. Roarke-from J D Robb's "In Death' series
4. Damarel-the best Regency rake ever-from Georgette Heyer
5. Rhys Duncan-a rancher from Linda Howard.
6. John Medina-secret agent again from Linda Howard.
7. Maximus-from Gladiator-ie Russell Crowe.
Off to day dream now...
Hi Ladies
I was on your blog today and thought I would play along as well. Here's my list
1. Nate from My Fair Captain by J.L. Langley (he's divine)
2. Sean O'Brian from The Assignment by Evangeline Anderson (hot in shorts)
3. Nick Valenti from the Assignment (just as hot without the shorts)
4. Warrick (Gary Dourdan) from CSI (have you seen those eyes?)
5. Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) from Prison Break - the eyes again
6. Sheriff Grayson Hunter, The Broken H by J.L. Langley (gotta love her heroes even though they're gay)
7. Jake Taggart from Bareback by Chris Owen (hot cowboy)
Hmmm.... this is tough.
1. Derek Craven - from Dreaming of You
2. Hector - in Troy
3. Armand - the Legend of Zorro
4. The Stranger [Gerard Butler] - Dear Frankie
5. Marcello - Under the Tuscan Sun
6. lol because I'm feeling silly, a blast from the past - Hiko Seijūrō [From Rurouni Kenshin]
7. and... Michael Westen from Burn Notice :P b/c I remember he used to be in Pretender.
;) Haha, yes, mine are all pretty frou frou. :D
Thanks for playing, ladies, especially those of you who haven't commented before.
It's getting pretty busy in this dungeon, and there are an awful lot of big egos. I think someone might announce the start Fight Club any minute.
Damn, I wanted Vaughan because he could seduce even the straightest of men!
1. Archeron-- from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters;
2. Savitar-- ditto;
Those two can also take care of any practical matters with just a thought, plus each will keep the other in line... I hope.
3. Rhys-- from Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake series.
4. John McClane-- played by Bruce Willis in the Die-Hard movies.
Oh man, I'm getting overloaded with smartasses, aren't I?
5. MacGyver-- title character from the TV show played by Richard Dean Anderson- because he can make something out of anything
6. Micah-- from LKH's Anita Blake series, cause I just like him
7. Garth Brooks-- WHAT?! Look, he's my secret crush and ya gotta have someone to serenade ya!
I just KNOW there is someone else I should have included that I'll kick myself for later.
I'll swap you Vaughan for Rhys if you like, QB. Actually, he seems to be getting around a bit.
Oh, Madelynne, tough choice! But okay, I guess keeping three gods for myself is a bit greedy. And I think it's safe to say that dungeon life would never be boring with Vaughan around, so you've got a deal... I'll trade Rhys for Vaughan.
Having followed Lust Bites for a while now...I just have to join in. Some of the choices so far are spectacular, so here are mine!
1) Captain Hook...especially of the Jason Isaacs variety.
2) Commodore Norrington - much as I always swooned over Jack and Will, it was James Norrington that stole my heart in all of the films!
3) If Madeline Moore gets Dr House then I get Dr Wilson...sexy and smart, just less bitter than House.
4) Sirius Black from Harry Potter
5) Vinz from 'La Haine'
6)Robbie Turner from 'Atonement'
7)and last but not least...I'll go for another pirate. Barbossa! He might be old and somewhat dead, but he has a naughty twinkle in his eye.
Adjusted slightly for sexual orientation (no minotaurs, though), I give you:
1. Gene Hunt, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes
2/3. John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, Farscape. (Shyeah. Like you could choose.)
4. President Laura Roslin, Battlestar Galactica
5. Jim Profit, Profit
6. Dana Scully, The X-Files
7. Geoffrey Tennant, Slings and Arrows
... I have a type. And my type is Terrifying. On the other hand, assuming we don't manage to break and/or shoot our way out, living conditions in said dungeon will never ever be boring.
Ok, well, since Jareth, Jack Sparrow, and Aragorn are all spoken for - so to speak - I'm forced to think outside recent years.
1. Frank N Furter - Tim Curry's amazing portrayal aside, there's something to be said about a mad scientist in corsets and fishnets, with incredible legs.
2. The Sherrif of Nottingham - Alan Rickman's version of course. That delicious accent sends shivers up my spine.
3. Wesley (The Princess Bride) - don't matter that he's such a baby face, there's just something about those eyes that make me want to drown.
4. Will Turner - HA - got my pirate somehow. Orlando Bloom - nuff said.
5. Nathan Fox - this leading man brought me to my knees in A Little Night Music (LOL - thanks Dayle).
6. Zinc Chandler - hero of Special X and a sexy cop character developed by Michael Slade. Sullen, damaged and amazingly hot.
7. Jesus (Godspell) - ok Victor Garbers film version. I know it's sacreligious, but there was just something about him that made me want to rip off his Superman shirt and see him exactly how God made him.
Angell: I wasn't allowed to list Nate Fox, so I'm glad you could--and did! :-)
1. Drizzt Do'Urden by Ray Salvatore
