Crush Wednesday: Asian Men

by Madelynne Ellis

I have a thing about Asian Men. I would wax lyrical, but I think I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Cheekbones, kohl, all those slender, fine features. Seriously, what's not to like?

And have I mentioned I'm very fond of dark flowing locks on men?

Couldn't resist a teeny bit of the red stuff. Must be the influence off all those triad movies I watch.

And I think you all know how much I like this guy! Hours, and hours of my life have vanished courtesy of Gackt and YouTube.

So, do the Asian guys do it for anyone else. I want pictures. Tell me who your favourites are, and recommend some films and music while you're on.

Hope you've enjoyed the view!

OMG Madelynne, you are so a woman after my own heart. I'm drooling and having visual orgasms. What fantastic pics.

I totally have the hots for Asian men. They are so beautiful and really sweet. I love their eyes, so dark and mysterious. It's like you look into a deep unsolvable mystery that you just have to solve, but never can.

I fell in love with Japanese men from the moment I arrived there and I haven't looked back.

And I especially like it when men wear kohl. I keep trying to get DH to do it. LOL

I'd so jump Atsushi Sakurai's bones
I love: Hiroyuki Sanada, Ken Watanabe, Rongguan Yu. There are so many.

Damn, now my mouth is watering. :)

Oh! You've captured my heart! Dayle directed me over here to view such incredible candy!

I LOVE Asian men—the only reason I watch CSI:VEGAS is to see Archie Kao. ;)

But here's my favorite beauty: American Born singer/actor Wang Lee Hom!

Go see him HERE: http://phaedraweldon.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/leehom.jpg

Not to mention the beautiful Takeshi Kaneshiro (I really wanted him to play John Rain in the Rain movie--books by Barry Eisler)and since you love Gackt—you've seen MOONCHILD, right? I see Hyde-O up there, so you know LeeHom, right?

I love the pictures but alas, the men do nothing for me. I worry that if I actually jumped their bones, I might actually break a few...
lovely though!

Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Yeah, I definitely get your Asian men crush. :)

Love me some Jet Li..

Madame Butterfly you've explained it far more eloquently than I did, thank you.

Phaedra - Yes I know Wang Lee Hom. I can't believe I managed to forget him when I was hunting out pics for the post. Silly Madelynne. Yup, I've seen Moonchild, and I'm nervously anticipating Gackt's first Hollywood offering.

Kate - each to their own, that's what makes us interesting. With the odd exception eg Vin Diesel, I just don't get the big butch bulky men thing.

Oooh, I think my favourites are Mr Headphone Guy, blue-man-with-hair-blowing-over-his-eyes, and the chap who's bleeding (not that he has to bleed to please me).

Am I the only one who looked at fingernail-person and thought "dark flowing locks on men? Where's the man?"

Oh, and Kate - I wouldn't worry about breaking anyone's bones - I'm seeing a lot of samurai swords, so I'm guessing these boys can defend themselves ;-)

*whispers* P.S. No-one tell Edward Said about this post, okay? Just hum and look innocent if he asks.

Kate--I've jumped many an Asian male's bones and they never broke. In fact, they are so deceiving. :)

As Olivia says, like a katana, they look all sleek, smooth and almost harmless but they can chop your head off in a flash without flinching. LOL

That's part of the turn on for me. How they can be so kind of delicate looking and acting and yet, be so dangerous at the same time.

Ohhhh yeah. As many of you know I lived in Thailand when I was 15/16, so my first boyfriends were Thai. I was very popular, due to my blonde hair and green eyes, and my dance card was always full. No touching allowed - this was a small village and awhile ago - except when dancing.Women had to ride sidesaddle on the back of motorcycles, holding onto the strap across the seat, not the man's waist (unless she was pregnant.)

Once I got back to Canada, my boyfriend was a beee yooo teee fulll Korean man, second degree black belt. He taught me many things...things he had learned from his maids in Korea...and he gave me beautiful gifts from around the world. Oh, and he was brilliant, too. I was his youthful rebellion (his dad was a politician) and eventually, once he left for MIT, the relationship had to end. And with it, my personal experience with Asian men. But blue black hair still makes me crazy. Sigh.
Memories...

Oooo I just googled him and he's a Grand Master now. Wonder what he'd think if he knew his first great love is an erotica writer now?

Olivia, the fingernail guy would be Miyavi.

MB - yes, definitely half the appeal is that they look so delicate, but are capable of cutting you in half. I like Restoration and Georgian fashions for the same reason. All those effeminate looking peacock who can chop you into little pieces. I just love the ambiguity of it all.

Madeline - Maybe you should write to him!

They don't do anything for me either, I'm afraid. Although I think guys like Dwayne Johnson and Keanau Reeves are pretty cute. I think it is just the hint of the exotic that does it for me.

What, wait—Gackt is doing something here???

Oh Madelynne, I think we may be twins seperated at birth!!!

I love Gackt and have also lost err... time on the youtubes perusing his clips. My fav is the live concert :o)

Phaedra - LOL! Yup, he's just finished filming Bunraku with Josh Hartnett and Demi Moore. It's released early next year.

Sarah - I'm very fond of the live performance of Nine Spiral.

I often buy romances and Blacklaces with Asian heroes, and I love that they're becoming more and more frequent in Western fiction.
Though I must say, I don't really like most of the "Visual rock" guys...
My favorite (both as a man and as a singer) is Yutaka Ozaki. He's still very famous in Japan though he passed away 16 years ago (kind of like Kurt Cobain).

Isn't he beautiful? And all of his songs are great *_*

As for the actors, Kaneshiro has been one of my earlier crushes, later followed by Takashi Sorimachi :

I'm a bit late to the party, but I've brought sushi and gyoza for everyone, plus some nice "Demon Slayer" sake. Help yourselves, please!

Hey, I'd drag any of these luscious guys to a love hotel, but Andy Lau and Tony Leung are big favorites (my sister hangs out with Hong Kong film stars and is a personal friend of Shawn Yue, who is veddy cute).

I have a nostalgic spot in my heart for Kazama Morio, my first Japanese crush. He played the instructor in a TV drama about the cut-throat world of airline stewardess school. Kikkawa Koji--the gender transcender of his generation. I still have a poster of him looking very macho in lipstick. I just looked him up and he's still putting out CD's and acting. Hmm, I'll have to check into this...

Thanks for the inspiration!
